This Privacy Policy explains how Camptra Technologies, LLC, a Texas limited liability company ("Camptra," "BriefSpec," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you visit briefspec.com, use the BriefSpec platform, communicate with us, or otherwise interact with our services.
BriefSpec is designed for business use. If you use the Service on behalf of a company or other organization, that organization may control the workspace and the content submitted to it. This Privacy Policy describes Camptra's practices as a service provider and website operator; your organization may have its own privacy notices and policies that also apply to your use.
1. Information We Collect
Account and profile information
We may collect your name, business email address, company name, job title, phone number, authentication details, workspace membership, role, plan information, and related account settings when you create an account, request access, or administer a BriefSpec workspace.
Customer Data
Customers and authorized users may upload, input, generate, or import requirements, statements of work, transcripts, test cases, defects, decisions, documentation, integrations data, and other business content into the Service. We process Customer Data to provide and secure the Service under our agreement with the customer.
Website, device, and usage information
When you visit our website or use the Service, we may collect information such as IP address, device identifiers, browser type, operating system, referring pages, pages viewed, feature usage, timestamps, approximate location inferred from IP address, log data, diagnostics, and performance information.
Billing and transaction information
If you purchase a paid plan or add-on, we and our payment processor may collect billing contact details, payment method information, tax information, purchase history, invoices, and transaction metadata. Payment card details are processed by our payment processor and are not stored by Camptra in full.
Communications and support
If you contact us, submit a form, join a beta or early access list, attend an event, request a demo, or ask for support, we may collect the information you provide and records of our communications with you.
2. How We Use Information
We use personal information to provide, operate, maintain, secure, and improve the website and Service; create and manage accounts; provision workspaces; authenticate users; process transactions; respond to inquiries; provide support; send administrative notices; communicate about BriefSpec products, events, and updates; monitor performance; detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents; comply with legal obligations; and enforce our agreements.
We may also use aggregated, de-identified, or anonymized information to understand product usage, improve workflows, benchmark performance, develop new capabilities, and market BriefSpec, provided that the information does not identify a customer, individual, or confidential customer subject matter.
3. Customer Data and AI Features
Customer Data remains subject to the ownership and use terms in the applicable agreement between Camptra and the customer. We do not sell Customer Data.
Some BriefSpec features use artificial intelligence or machine learning providers to generate, classify, summarize, transform, or suggest content. Where we use third-party AI providers to deliver AI features, we seek contractual terms that exclude the use of Customer Data to train those providers' foundation models.
Raw prompts and direct model outputs are not retained as standalone records beyond the inference session, except where required for security, troubleshooting, legal compliance, or as otherwise authorized by the customer. Structured artifacts created within the Service are retained as Customer Data.
6. Legal Bases for Processing
Where applicable privacy laws require a legal basis, we process personal information based on one or more of the following: performance of a contract, our legitimate interests in operating and improving BriefSpec, consent, compliance with legal obligations, and protection of vital or public interests where relevant.
7. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the Service, maintain business records, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and protect the security and integrity of BriefSpec. Customer Data retention, export, and deletion may be governed by the customer's subscription plan, order, data processing addendum, and account settings.
8. Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, use, alteration, or disclosure. These safeguards may include encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, logging, monitoring, personnel controls, backups, and vendor review processes.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. If you believe your account or workspace has been compromised, contact us promptly.
9. International Transfers
Camptra is based in the United States, and information may be processed in the United States and other countries where we or our service providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers, such as contractual commitments or other mechanisms recognized by applicable law.
10. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, objection, withdrawal of consent, or an appeal of a privacy decision. You may also have the right to opt out of certain processing activities.
If your information is controlled by your employer or another BriefSpec customer, we may direct your request to that customer or ask you to contact them directly. We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights available under applicable law.
